On the way to nearby towns and villages

Utrecht

The Utrecht Cathedral, the many canals and the cozy streets: a day in Utrecht is always fun! From our holiday park you can be there in half an hour. Parking is easy by using a transferium, from where you can take the bus to the city for free.

Vreeswijk (Nieuwegein)

Vreeswijk is an authentic picturesque village with many locks and restaurants. Nieuwegein originated from the village of Vreeswijk which served as the outer port of the city of Utrecht. In 1373 the construction of a wooden lock began in the Vaartse Rijn, where today the Oude Sluis still stands. The lock was built to reconnect Utrecht, which had lost its connection to the Rhine a few years earlier. Vreeswijk now has the largest lock complex in the Netherlands.

Wijk bij Duurstede

Wijk bij Duurstede is a real fortified town with a rich history. The castle and the many old buildings exude the historic atmosphere, definitely worth a visit! In addition, you can also enjoy shopping and there are many boutiques and galleries that are worth seeing.
